In the morning we had a breakfast buffet that had American and Chinese food. We had a fruit plate and one piece of fruit was white with black seeds. It was very interesting looking and tasted like a kiwi.
From there, we went to the Great Wall right away at 7:30 in the morning.
It was FREEZING!! There was a vendor that nearly accosted us the moment we got out of the car putting hats on us and . They tried to sell us things all the way up and down the wall, but this was the one thing we were very happy to buy!!
It was a beautiful day, sun shining and Chicago style intense wind!! The grade was often VERY steep and it was very funny to watch people walking…
I promise you, Tony is not trying to be funny. This is how you had to walk in order to not fall backward!
Also, to keep you from falling to your death over the 3 foot fence they had provided a railing for you to hold. Too bad it only came up to our shins...
When we came down, we made a stop to get a warm drink at ….Starbucks! Yes, there was Starbucks at the Wall!
Then we had to rush to the airport again to fly to Guangzhou. We were suppose to have the whole day to tour and then fly the next day, but our appointment for placement was moved up a day. We were now scheduled to meet Selah Monday night instead of Tuesday morning.
On the way we passed by the stadium for the Olympics, which our driver told us was built to look like a bird's nest.
And, yes, they have tolls in China - just prettier ones!
